Hachikō (jap. ハチ公, 10. marraskuuta 1923 – 8. maaliskuuta 1935)
oli kuuluisa akita-koira, joka tuli tunnetuksi uskollisuudestaan
omistajalleen tämän kuoleman jälkeenkin.
Oikea Hachikō syntyi paikassa nimeltään Odate, Japanissa 10.
marraskuusta 1923. Kun sen isäntä, Tokion yliopiston professori
Eisaburo Ueno, kuoli toukokuussa 1925, Hachikō palasi Shibuyan
rautatieasemalle seuraavana päivänä ja seuraavina yhdeksänä vuotena
odottamaan isäntänsä paluuta töistä.
Nykyään Shibuyan rautatieaseman edessä on pronssipatsas Hachikōsta
paikassa, jossa se istui odottamassa isäntäänsä.
