Been a long time!Lauantai 16.10.2010 04:40

En jaksa Suomentaa, jos joku haluaa joskus tämän lukea niin kannattaa taitaa Lontoo hyvin.

Sup peeps -- The two of you who ever see this entry!

It's been a long time coming, and my plans to release something at the start of 2010 were optimistic to say the least. I am however happy to announce that I have finally started the actual recording process -- sort of. Actually I've been just playing around with Pro-Tools as there are some minor problems with the recording equipment, but I'm expecting it all to be sorted out soon, which is when I can truly start working. And I'm kind of a workaholic when it comes to my own projects, so I'm pretty optimistic that I can get the whole thing out by next summer.

The good thing is I've never stopped writing, and I'm constantly coming up with new things, coming up with ways to better express certain things etc. So, while I have been unable to actually record anything yet, it just means that once I get to recording I have songs that make what I had at the beginning of 2010 look like a bad joke.

30 songs (+ 1 'secret') is still the plan. A friend (Tomirandomi, check out his stuff from MySpace) told me that it will take me two years to get it all together, which sounds like an awfully long time. I'll know better once I have the first couple of songs ready to go. What I mostly speak about on the album is alcohol and problems related to alcohol, bullying and discrimination in general, military and war and just generally things that I have strong opinions about/experiences with. Socially conscious is how I'd like to describe my music, or that's what I'm going for, anyway.

My big sister also started a band (she's a great singer, might ask for her vocals for some of the hooks), which would be awesome. But we'll see.

All in all, I'm quite happy with how things are right now. I'm in no particular hurry, and I still have a lot of things to say, which is nice. If I had to forcefully come up with verses I'd stop right away. If I still have things to say after I get this 30-song monstrosity out I'll start working on new songs, as I've quite come to like how I can freely say things that I've kept for myself when I'm Oskari Kiiskinen, not ***** ********.

And frankly I'm starting to get sick of all the bullshit that's coming out in Finland these days. Hopefully I can be a rolemodel, or at least a positive influence on the hip-hop culture here. Less Cheek/Aste, more Public Enemy/Sabac Red.

Even if there's no wrong or right in self-expression.

Take it easy,

Kiiskinen
