Yes, that is a great company. I bought one of their large print version (old eyes... what can I say?).

The only thing I don't like about them is they sell foreign language versions of the KJB. I don't think that's right. We know the only true translation is the 1600's version in English.

It's too risky for anybody to translate that into other languages. Mistakes can creep in... and that can lead to heresy. True Christians should only read English.

"Vaikkakaan näemmä täällä ei käytännössä ollenkaan keskustella otsikon aiheesta löytynee mieltäni askarruttavaan kysymykseen asiantuntemusta.

Aamulla silmälaseja etsiessäni tuli mieleeni, että miten luonnonvalinnan seulasta on voinut päästä läpi likinäköisyyden aiheuttaja. Likinäköisyys kai on kuitenkin mitä suuremmissa määrin periytyvä ominaisuus. Onko tietoa kuinka kauan ihmiset ovat tästä kärsineet? Luulisi, että muinaisilla metsästäjä-kerääjä-ihmisillä likinäköisyys olisi ollut niin kertakaikkiaan huono ominaisuus, että karsiutuisi geenipoolista pois. Itse ainakaan en kykenisi mammuttia pienempää riistaa saalistamaan ilman silmälaseja, ja voisipa ruuan etsiminen keräämälläkin olla vaikeaa.

Vai onko kyse siitä, että "likinäköisyysgeeni" aiheuttaa jotain niin hyödyllistä, että se korvaa heikentyneen näkökyvyn? Tunnetustihan professorilla kuuluu olla silmälasit ja silmälasien käyttäminen tekee viisaamman näköiseksi.

Ps. Pyytäisin pysyttelemään aiheessa, joten sivuutan (toivottavasti muutkin sivuuttavat) vastaukset, joissa ehdotetaan syntiinlankeemusta tai muuta yhtä "fiksua" syyksi."
